Green Book is a 2018 by Peter Farrelly, director of the upcoming Green Book, Peter Farrelly's Green Book, starring Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen, won the audience award at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Sunday. The film is about an Italian-American working-class man who accepts a job as a chauffeur of a classic African-American pianist in the 1960s in the United States. "This victory goes beyond my wildest dreams," the director said in a brief statement read by the organizers. Awarded since 1978, the public's prize is based solely on the votes of the audience. The Toronto Festival (TIFF), the most important of its kind in North America, is often considered a springboard for American Oscars. In Toronto, films that have not yet been released commercially but that have previously gone through other festivals, such as Venice or Sundance, are presented.
